Soft Baked Pretzels

Hot, soft, chewy whitebreadgoodness in a knot.  That's what you can whip up in 30 minutes (true story) and with 5 ingredients all in your pantry if you bake (ever).  Following the recipe on sallysbakingaddiction, these bad boys can be churned out and plate ready in less time than it takes to decide what to bake next!  Another positive about this recipe, the dough doesn't need rise time...(practically) instant gratification, and it can be done in a mixing bowl sans mixer.

Two varieties made today...plain salt and cinnamon-sugar.  I think I'l try adding a little garlic or grated cheddar to future pretzels for savory alternatives.  And for the cinnamon-sugar, pretty good as is...just don't forget to brush with melted butter.  This batch took 10 minutes at 425 with the addition of 5 minutes at the end to brown the tops on broil.  Skipped the hot water bath and brushed with egg-wash instead.  Try it, it's too easy!
Baking the goodness...10 minutes to bake!
