Harry Potter Birthday Cake

A special cake for my niece's 10th birthday...she got me into Harry Potter this summer after she inhaled the entire 7 book series in a matter of weeks.

The cake is a basic chocolate cake, frosted and filled.  Covered in white fondant that is dusted with cocoa powder to make the pages looked aged.

The golden snitch is made from fondant and painted with sugars and edible dusts, the wand and sorting hat are made from chocolate Fondarific (tastes like Tootsie Rolls).
